Technicians who hold the Certibiocide

The certificate required to use professional biocides, and the good practice that goes with it.

In France, anyone who uses or buys rodenticides and insecticides reserved for professionals must hold an individual certificate called the Certibiocide. Since 1 January 2024 it comes in three versions; the one covering pest control, the Certibiocide « nuisibles », requires 21 hours of training and is valid for 5 years.

The Certibiocide is issued to a person, not to a company. That is why we talk about certified technicians rather than a 'certified company'.

In practice

  • 1

    Valid individual certificate

Every technician applying professional biocides holds a Certibiocide that is in date.

  • 2

    Authorised products only

We only use products with a marketing authorisation, strictly according to their label.

  • 3

    The right tool first

Dry steam, heat, traps, proofing: chemicals are used only when they add something.

  • 4

    Occupant safety

Locked bait stations and clear instructions about children, pets and ventilation.

What the Certibiocide guarantees

The training covers regulations, health and environmental risks, choosing products and alternative methods, and protective measures. It is the gateway to professional biocides.

It doesn't replace experience, but it sets a baseline: a certified technician knows how to read a label, dose correctly, protect occupants and justify his choices.

Less product, better placed

The Verrou Method rests on a simple principle: a well-placed product beats blanket spraying. Fine dots of gel in cracks, bait inside secured stations, direct injection into a nest: the quantity used stays low.

For bed bugs we follow ANSES's advice to favour non-chemical methods, and keep insecticide for cases where it is really needed.

For households

You know the products used in your home are authorised and applied by someone trained in their risks.

For businesses

For your audits and inspections, the report lists the products used and their conditions of use.

Frequently asked questions

Can I check a technician's Certibiocide?

Yes, just ask: the technician can show you the certificate during the visit.

Are the products dangerous for my children or pets?

Every biocide calls for precautions. That's why we use locked stations, place gels out of reach and give you precise instructions to follow after the visit.

Do you always use chemicals?

No. Depending on the pest, dry steam, heat, mechanical trapping and proofing are sometimes enough, or come first.
