Building pest control

Pests in a building rarely live where you see them. The rat spotted in the entrance hall comes from the car park or the sewer; the cockroaches in the kitchen climb up the rubbish chute or the service duct. Until those service areas are treated, every flat stays exposed.

We work on the building's technical shell, from cellar to roof. Each area is inspected, treated for the pest actually present, then closed off: grilles, non-return valves, foam and steel wool, door sweeps. The property manager, landlord or caretaker receives an area-by-area photo report the same day.

Why DeratiseurPRO

What changes for you

Area by area

Cellars, bin room, rubbish chute, car park, ducts, loft: each area gets its own diagnosis, its own treatment and its own 'after' photo in the report.

Passages closed for good

Rodent-proof grilles, non-return valves, sealed wall and slab penetrations, brush door sweeps: the lock is what makes results last.

Fits around building life

Visits scheduled in 2-hour slots, access arranged with the caretaker, treated areas marked off and bait stations sealed.

Old and new buildings alike

Vaulted cellars and rubbish chutes in older blocks, underground car parks and ducts in recent residences: the weak points differ, and so does the diagnosis.

Regulatory context

Service areas: a sensitive point

The règlement sanitaire départemental (the local public-health code) requires refuse storage areas and building outbuildings to be kept clean and maintained, and the necessary measures to be taken against rodents and insects. A neglected bin room or rubbish chute is often a building's first hotspot.

Treatment doesn't replace upkeep: regular cleaning of bins and the bin room, doors that close properly, covered containers. Our report states clearly what is treatment and what is routine maintenance.

FAQ

Your questions, answered

Why not just treat the flat with cockroaches?

Because cockroaches travel through shared chutes and ducts. Treating one flat brings short-term relief, but the population living in the chute or duct moves straight back in. We treat the source and the flat at the same time.

Do you work in underground car parks?

Yes. With their drains, plant rooms and ramps, car parks are common rat areas. We install sealed bait stations and trace the entry points from outside.

What can be done about an infested rubbish chute?

We treat the chute and the collection room, then recommend cleaning and repairs. If the co-ownership is considering closing the chute, our report can inform the decision; the owners make it at the general meeting.

Do residents have to leave during treatment?

Not for common areas. Treated areas are marked off and instructions (ventilation, time before cleaning) are posted. For treatment inside a flat, our technicians explain the precautions when the appointment is booked.

Can you come out without a contract?

Yes, a one-off intervention on quote is possible. If the report shows lasting pressure around the building, we'll then suggest periodic monitoring, with no obligation.
